The Garden of Earthly Delights

The Garden of Earthly Delights is Bosch's most well-known and complex piece. The overall theme of the painting is understood as the fate of humanity. Sin is the common thread connecting the three scenes depicted on each panel of the triptych. The left panel shows Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The center panel focuses on the paradise of lust. Finally, the right panel shows Hell's punishment to those who give in to sinful pleasures.
